Took this in the garden earlier today... it isn't the best cornflower I've ever seen but it rather reminded me of a Scottish thistle and I liked the delicate violety-blue of the petals in front of the wall.

I love the colours in this photo. I only recently learned that these are cornflowers - I used to call them thistles when I was a child and then later on, I knew that was wrong but didn't know what they actually were!
Oh - I love these. When Greg died, the funeral home gave us a packed of seeds. I had no idea what they were until they grew and flowered - cornflowers :)
