Every picture tells a story - I thought this was precious..! We had trogged along endless rainy paths and gratefully dripped into the refectory at Winchester Cathedral for tea and sustenance. I saw 'Moss cake' and decided we should share a piece. Cathy usually sings the praises of anything vegetable but it seems the spinach ingredient beat her this time. It wasn't even tasty to be honest but I'll remember it..!!

Well I must say that is a first for me. I don't think I've ever seen spinach used in a case. Now zucchini, but not spinach. I think just the color might be an instant turn off.
This is such a perfectly nuanced expression!!! You absolutely nailed it! Pity the flavor wasn't what you and Cathy had hoped for, but any occasion that yields a good picture is worthwhile in my book!
Well I know you can make some really good cakes out of vegetables because my d-i-l Becky does it all the time. I think you'd have to find the right sweetners to make it work. Green cake doesn't bother me- after all I've seen all sorts of food stuff turned green for St. Patrick's Day. I think we should send the baker back to the drawing board on this one. Fun shot.
