A Country Walk by fishers

A Country Walk

A few days ago, Louise included a shot of our bluebell walk ( http://365project.org/fishers/365/2013-05-21), and here is one of the shots that I took on the same walk. Beyond the woodland is an area of pasture with wild flowers, which my grandchildren Oliver and Evelyn explored. Here they are returning to Louise and I before we returned back through the bluebell wood.

My visit was about six weeks after I had seen them when they visited York, and it's amazing to see how they have grown in that time.

Oliver is attending a Forest School, and he showed us where in the forest they went for their lessons, and explained what they did there.

Evelyn now chatters quite a lot, and although her words aren't always clear, she manages to convey her thoughts quite clearly!

They both enjoyed our walk, and picnic, in the forest, and both returned home with new walking sticks.

Lovely family shot. They sure do grow quickly, or is it that the sticks get smaller!!!

@padlock

Thank you Padlock - Oliver still has a walking stick he acquired about 3 years ago in Stafford Castle. It's a lot shorter than his latest one!

@witchyjacq

Thank you Jacqui - Forest Schools are an idea imported from Denmark and Sweden. At Oliver's school his class spends half a day every two weeks in a lovely area of beech woodland, where they are involved in a variety of cross-curricular activities. He really enjoys it.
