It was a pleasant change yesterday to have a trip to see my mum in Sheffield, and for it not to involve going on a hospital or doctor's visit with her.It gave us more time to have a relaxing day together.
One of the first things I noticed after leaving Sheffield railway station and crossing the main road was these trees with their blossom on display. It shows just how mild our winter has been this year.
There is still a long time before spring arrives properly, but it was uplifting to see this early sign of spring.
It's a lovely bright shot. I think these trees do blossom during the winter. I don't know what they are, but there's a row of them I see on my way home that have been flowering for several weeks - if they're the same. I did see aconites today though!
I`ve blooming a Jasminum now in the garden but an old Dutch proverb say`s : Seeing one swallow don`t means it`s summer now.
Beautiful Prunus trees and a nice view capture
@monkeykid Thank you but although spring like they are probably winter blossoming trees, but they did give me a lift. I had a nice time with mum and it allowed dad to go to the library without having to rush back. Katharine
@tonydebont Thanks Tony. I am informed that they are probably winter blossoming trees but with the sun and blue sky it all looked spring like. katharine
@charlottemurne They were lovely and in a sheltered space, despite what the picture shows, so it felt spring like. I gather they are winter blossoming trees. Katharine
@bobhuegel Hi Bob, I gather they are winter flowering trees so spring isn't here yet! We are just starting a cold snap but no snow in this area yet. Katharine
