World through a paper-weight

I was bought a lovely glass paperweight for Christmas and finally got around to playing with it and the camera. After a frustrating morning experimenting with backgrounds and lighting, Ian came in and gave me several pointers/reminders of the" how to" variety ( I seem to have memory problems when it comes to photography!). I was about to give up when he said "Why don't you put it in the window and try the sunset as a backcloth ". So I did!

I suppose some might call this a joint effort but it was me holding my camera and pointing it, Ian only helped a bit with showing what cropping can achieve.

Isn't a joint effort what your family project is all about? Cooperation has worked well here to produce this lovely abstract shot.

This is really fabulous! And your husbands idea for the sunset really seems to add a great touch! (But don't worry... it's still your photo! ;))

@vignouse Thanks. We do co-operate quite a lot as I am not that confident playing on the computer and finding different effects. Katharine
