Tutu Much by fishers

Tutu Much

It’s Showtime!

My friend Sue and I have just made eight tutus in the past two weeks for the cupcakes in the Mad Hatters Tea Party ballet. Confections of net and satin have materialised from our sewing machines and now we need to have a lie down to rest and recover.

Next year we will allow more time to make them, so it is less stressful - the only trouble is that we said that last year about this year!

Lovely tutus! Are they for grandchildren? At first glance I thought you were one of your girls and had to rewrite my comment :-). I love the photo against the dark background.

@tonydebont Thank you. I thought the title apt as we had a lot of trouble getting the right colours and fabric before we could start sewing. katharine

@purplehaze12 Thanks Hazel. Unfortunately it is difficult to post pictures of the youngsters wearing them due to the rules of the studio and needing parental permission! Will try though. Katharine

@pjr Thanks Pete. they are very rewarding to capture when finished. Katharine

@bruni Thanks Bruni. They will be kept used and adapted for the next few years but if the teachers decide they want tutu's for a different age group more will be made in other sizes. Its been my experience that this is almost a certainty! Katharine
