Around High Wycombe there are many areas of woodland, some natural and some replanted. Here these leaves are in Bradenham Woods, and I spent a fascinating day exploring this woodland and then the area around Hughenden Manor. It was very hot, and the shelter provided by the trees was very welcome indeed.
Wood was in the past very important to the economy of High Wycombe, because it was a centre for furniture making. There is a museum in the town telling the history of the industry.
Thank you Ivan - it was a lovely walk through the woods.
