A brief visit to Bradford yesterday led to me taking less than a handful of photos, due to a shortage of time and poor weather. However I did like this church situated on Great Horton Road.
Known as Cornerstone, and used by the Methodist and United Reform churches, and built in 1814, it has an impressive classical style frontage.
Many of the churches in Bradford are no longer in use as churches, some being converted to apartments, others being demolished and others simply disused, so it was good to find this one still used for its original purpose.
Bradford has a fascinating mixture of architecture, with a number of very impressive Victorian buildings, so I think another visit needs to be made soon. There is also an excellent Media Museum that I haven't been to for some time, so that's another good reason to visit again.
I''m glad that you shared with us that it indeed is a church. Quite lovely and so different than what we are accustomed to seeing. It would be interesting to see the interior.
Thank you all for your lovely comments, and particularly for the favs which got this shot onto the trending page!
