Walking away from the spot where I took yesterdays picture, and with my back to the Minster, I found this enticing teddy. He was strangely alone and without his adoring fans, I think they were all in school!
Teddy's role is to entice you into the shop either to purchase one of his smaller relatives or to indulge in tea and cakes.
I've been trying to get a picture of him like this for ages, success at last.
Great image, super Ted - and big! Can't wait to get to that tearoom upstairs! We've got a teddy (from Indonesia) - he sits on a child's chair on the landing. He's a bit chubby and Tina calls him Onslow after the fat brother-in-law in theTV comedy series, "Keeping Up Appearances" - though I think our Onslow is more refined than the TV one! Fav, btw!
Fantastic photo. I would be easily enticed to go in the shop. I wondered what some of these shops would look like facing them (from your photo yesterday). They look very fun!
@ivan Thank you for the fav and comment. teddies are very important. Lucy takes one bought by her sister on her travels, he's called "Flat Ted", bet you can guess why. Katharine
@pyrrhula There are many tea rooms in York and at the moment it seems like a new one opens each week, This one is well established and popular. Katharine
