Flowers and a Fly by fishers

Flowers and a Fly

Katharine has been nominated by one of her friends on Facebook to post 7 nature photos over 7 days, so we went for a walk yesterday through the country park at Rawcliffe Bar, just a little further out of York from where we live.

The fly photo bombed the shot, but I quite liked it so here is the shot with the fly.

The country park has only been open a few years. It was developed in conjunction with a large park and ride scheme designed to reduce the use of cars in the centre of the city.

Parts of the country park have traditional facilities like a childrens play area etc, but parts are left to nature and a variety of wild plants and flowers have become established.

Our walk was supposed to last about an hour, but it actually lasted three hours - it was so nice to enjoy looking at local nature.

Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated!

I would add that this isn't one of the nature photos that Katharine has posted on Facebook, it was just my take on the nature theme, as we looked at places where she could take nature photos. I have yet to persuade her to post any of her nature shots here!
