The Yorkshire holiday resort of Filey looks at it's glorious best in this shot, with it's glorious blue sky, but what the camera doesn't show is the strong winds blowing!
This bandstand is a recent addition to the Crescent Gardens, on the cliff top above the bay, being funded by Filey Rotary Club and built in 1998 to commemorate 50 years of the Rotary Club’s service in Filey since 1947. The bandstand was later gifted by the club to the people of Filey in 2012 and is now managed by Filey Town Council. There are regular band concerts on Sundays in the summer.
The gardens themselves were created as private gardens for the people in the houses and hotels built along the Crescent, and were only later opened to the public. They are a beautiful place to sit and relax and enjoy the views over the bay.
In the distance beyond the bandstand is Filey Brigg, which marks the northern end of Filey Bay.

It was nice to visit Filey again - it's many years since I was last there, and it was interesting to see the changes. There is a lot of public art, much of it linked to the fishing industry which once existed here. The promenades have also been improved and the gardens are still beautifully maintained. It is still primarily a holiday resort for the elderley.
Strong winds makes my pic.`s alway`s looks dizy. You capture is nice clear and detailed. Well done.
