By the time Katharine and I reached the Homestead Park yesterday the sun had gone, although it was still quite bright.
This quiet part of the park consists of a circular path around a small pond, with a wide variety of trees, shrubs and bushes planted, and a couple of benches to sit and enjoy the view - on most of our visits we spend a little time sat there.
The park belongs to the Joseph Rowntree Foundation who have continued to manage, maintain and develop the Homestead Park for the benefit of the people of York, as the Rowntree family wished.
Beautiful colours, we don't see scenes like this in autumn here in Australia. Most of our trees are natives. Only in the highlands do the trees lose their leaves.
Thank you all once again for your lovely comments and favs, which put this on the trending and popular pages!
This park has been part of our family life for many years, from being a place to take the children to play when they were young, to being a lovely refuge of peace and quiet, and a great source of inspiration for photos.
