The 'Mucky Duck', York by fishers

The 'Mucky Duck', York

The Black Swan Inn (known to some as the 'Mucky Duck') was originally built for William Bowes, a merchant and Sheriff of York in 1417, who later became Lord Mayor in 1428.

It was converted to a hotel in the 18th century, and today survives in the middle of an area where massive redevelopment is taking place.
