This shot was taken from Brockwell Park, to the south of Brixton. The park rises gently to the south and close to the high point is this view northward over the rooftops of Brixton, towards the Shard and other tower blocks in this part of London.
Each time I visit London I love to discover new things and places. Of course it's lovely to see family, and that is the main purpose of the visit, but there are so many discoveries to make too - so another visit to look forward to later in the summer.
this is so different to the view I'm used to now, from the north east - or all over the East End. I have pictures of how this view has changed over the last 10 years or so, from out here, where I can see the whole sky line
@seattlite@shannejw@peadar@sarah19@pyrrhula@bizziebeeme@stevepam@bkbinthecity@casablanca@pdulis Thank you all for your comments and favs, it's nice to hear from you. It is interesting to see this skyline continuing to evolve, with a number of cranes on building sites caught in this view - and it's true that cities seem to be becoming more simular, but I've developed a new interest in London since I began exploring it with Lucy and her family.
