Umbrellas above Coppergate Walk by fishers

Umbrellas above Coppergate Walk

A lot of effort seems to be happening in York to add novelty features in the city centre to 'enhance the visitor experience'. The traders and Yorvik Museum along Coppergate Walk were amongst the first areas to do this. For several years they have created a canopy of umbrellas above the walkway, in striking colours.

The green umbrellas have a leaf pattern printed on them, while the other umbrellas have a flower pattern on them.

The weather in the city centre today made an umbrella a useful accessory!

Before I read your comment, I thought the umbrellas would come in handy if it rains to walk along and stay reasonable dry.great composition.
