I've no idea, but I spotted it as I walked around the pond in the Homestead Park, York, yesterday. I thought it a very attractive bush, so here is a close-up of the area between two leaves.
Sorry for the late post, I've been visiting my mum today, so it's been a long day out.

UPDATE - Ferry ( @pyrrhula ) tells me that it if a Hypericum. I bow to his expert knowledge and thank him for telling me it's name.
Sorry Ian, I do not know this plant. it's very unique looking and you gpt a great close up of it.. Hope some one will recognize it. I'm sure Ferry @pyrrhula might know.
@shannejw Thank you Shanne. I would like to get more shots now the flowers have had time to open fully, although the heavy rain today will probably have left them rather battered.
Thank you all for your comments and favs, which are very much appreciated.
A particular thank you to Ferry ( @pyrrhula ) for identifying this as Hypericum.
