Westerdale is situated in the northern part of the North York Moors. There are really two places called Westerdale. The whole valley is Westerdale, and it's main settlement, highlighted by the sun in this shot, is also called Westerdale.
Westerdale is surrounded by moorland. It is a wide valley with the village of Westerdale on a small ridge in the centre of the valley.
The village is a small quiet place with attractive stone buildings and a pretty little church, so it is a good place for photos. However I liked this distant view with the sun on the houses and fields.
Thank you for your lovely comments. I must admit I can't get enough of walking on the North York Moors and enjoying the lovely landscapes and villages.

I have wallked through Westerdale valley several times over the years, and it's a lovely quiet backwater and a really peaceful place to walk.
