Our last Moorsbus trip of 2019 took us up past the Lion Inn on Blakey Ridge to Ralph Cross, the highest part of our journey over the North York Moors, with its lovely views to the north. The valley on the left of this shot is Westerdale, and to the right is Castleton Rigg. Our bus will continue to the right of Castleton Rigg into Eskdale.
On a clear day the North Sea can easily be seen, but it is quite rare for the view to be as clear as it was when this shot was taken.
We explored both Westerdale and Castleton Rigg during the summer months, and enjoyed both.
Thnk you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
Katharine and I were very fortunate with the weather on thus our final Moorsbus trip of 2019. There are few days when the weather is as kind as this, and it makes us look forward to the 2020 Moorsbus more than ever. The coast is about 12-13 miles to the north of us in this shot.
You are truly blessed to have such magnificent landscape and weather
