Most people in the UK have now put Christmas behind them, but for some countries who work to the old Julian calendar, today, 6th January is their Christmas eve.
We have a small celebration to mark this, since Katharine's dad was born in the Ukraine, and he always celebrates today. Traditionally there is a 12 course meal, though we will be having substantially fewer courses than that!
Thank you all for your lovely comments, they are all very much appreciated!
I should add that we didn't have the full 12 course Christmas meal last night, but a much more modest 2 courses, and only one of those was traditional Ukrainian food.
@casablanca We had Vareniki, my favourite Ukrainian food. It's pasta dumplings filled with potato and cheese, boiled and coated with butter. Not the most healthy food ever!
it is the 12th day of Christmas, when the 3 wise men arrive.
Celebrathing the visit of the three Kings.
Lovely tradition.
