Bright yellow dandelions are giving way to white seed heads as the dandelions prepare to spread their seeds ready for next spring. Some of the seeds from this seed head have already been blown away, so the detail of the remaining seeds can be seen more clearly.
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
The structure of these seed heads is quite remarkable. Dandelions have a feathery pappus attached to their seeds (like a miniature parachute) and they can be dispersed long distances by the wind.
It has been a long seven months since Katharine had her first hospital admission - there has been progress but still quite a way to go. We have also struggled a bit with lockdown, since Katharine's health makes her particularly vulnerable to the effects of Covid 19, but hopefully we are past the worst of the pandemic here in York.
I hope you are keeping well. It would be nice to hear how you are getting on, and to perhaps see some of your lovely photos again?

I agree Lizzy, definitely wish! I've done an update on Katharine's medical situation with the photo I posted yesterday - http://365project.org/fishers/365/2020-05-24
