The Mad Hatter by fishers

The Mad Hatter

A second sculpture stands close to the Alice in Wonderland sculpture, again from the writings of Lewis Carroll, and this time it is the Mad Hatter. He is leaning slightly forward and pouring a cup of tea.

I still haven't fund a definite link between Alice in Wonderland and York, although Lewis Carroll had strong links with Yorkshire, so he might well have visited the city. Neither do I know how long the sculptures have been here. I have found written reference to them in 2017, so it is absolutely certain that I have walked past them on a number of occasions without noticing them.

Thank you to all who hoped I had recovered from my migraine attack - yes I have just tiredness now, a normal side effect of a severe attack.

Wonderful! Really enjoying these statues. Glad you are feeling better. Migraines bother me at times too,so I heartily sympathise.

Such a lovely sculpture. I like this even better than that of Alice in Wonderland. Have never read the story of this one; looks like it is fun to read.

There will be more hidden York photos in the future, although at the moment I am not going out much because of increasing Covid-19 cases in this area.
