This shot was taken on our walk home from the Homestead Park on Thursday. Beside the main A19 road north from York, along Shipton Road, there is what was once a driveway that linked the main buildings of Clifton Hospital to other buildings further south. Since the closure of the hospital the driveway has been taken over by nature, and only the regular walkers keep a narrow path open. It may only be a few yards from the road, and the traffic noise is always there, but it does have the look and feel of a more rural location. Sadly, by the time we walked home the sun had vanished taking away much of the rich colour of this scene.
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated!
This is a lovely walk to see the passing of the seasons in the vegetation.
