Christmas by Rail

A trip into the archive for these photos taken around Christmas 2015. The top and bottom shots were taken at Doncaster railway station and the central two were taken at York railway station.

This decoration of a class 91 locomotive used on the East Coast railway route between London, York and Scotland was the result of a childrens competition, won by Madelaine Deckin, age 11.

Beautiful shots. Love the Christmas decorations. And done by a child of 11 years. She must be very talented.

Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.

I do think these decorated locomotives add a bit of extra fun to rail travel, and they do get attention from passengers as they pass through different railway stations.

Oh yes, I remember travelling by train once upon a time... before Covid!

@will_wooderson

I remember it as well. I haven't been on a train since early March.
