The Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come
Three more characters from the Dickens story 'A Christmas Carol' as recreated in wicker sculptures in the Homestead Park, York, and here we have the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present and the Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come.
It is fascinating in the story how Scrooge is brought face to face with himself and what happened to him in the past and present, and the fate that might await in the future and how he is transformed by that.
None of us can change what has happened in our past, nor can we have any certainty what our future holds. We have only today, and we really do need to make the most of each day that we have.
Wonderfully done. Really enjoying these. I remember playing the Ghost of Christmas Past in a production at my A Level college (Performing Arts course) and in the dress rehearsal we started playing with alternative lines just for fun. I remember the lines:
Me: I am the Ghost of Christmas Past.
Scrooge: Long past?
Me: No, half past.....
Great art work. Michaela, my granddaughter, in the first year of her post-secondary classes played the part of Scrooge in the school's rendition of A Christmas Carol. She was so good that the applause would not stop.
Me: I am the Ghost of Christmas Past.
Scrooge: Long past?
Me: No, half past.....

Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
Now I need to decide which film version I watch first in the lead up to Christmas - Patrick Stewart or Alistair Sim?
