One of the joys of Christmas is to see the impressive seasonal window displays in some of the shops. During a walk in York city centre yesterday evening, taking photos of the Christmas lights, I also took some shots of a few of the windows that I particularly liked.
This window is one of three at the Käthe Wohlfahrt shop in Stonegate. The recent story of the shop is told on the Käthe Wohlfahrt website “In August 2016, the first year-round Käthe Wohlfahrt store in England opened in picturesque York. The store is located in Mulberry Hall, in the heart of the old town and just 200m away from the impressive York Minster. Mulberry Hall is one of the oldest and most beautiful houses in York. The historic half-timbered building from 1434, with its Tudor-style facade and its priest hole on the upper floor, is well worth a visit. In the historic facades, visitors can immerse themselves in a magical Christmas world on 2 floors. Experience a world that leaves hardly anything to be desired and presents modern styles in addition to familiar and traditional items.”
Awesome, so much wonderful detail. And al the warm colours and glowing displays are comforting in the dark days at this point in the year.
Have a gentle Christmas.
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
It's really nice to walk around York city centre after dark and see how the shops have decorated their windows. There are a number of beautiful and attractive displays which I'm sure will have been effective at drawing in customers.
What a beautiful display. We almost made it to York for the Christmas atmosphere this year, but ran out of time! Next year perhaps... Thank you for your kind comments on my photos this year - it encouraged me greatly. A very Happy New Year to you all!
Thank you Marian, and Happy New Year to you as well. I've enjoyed taking Christmas photos around York city centre, there have been some nice improvements this year, but I avoided the Christmas market, since it was far too busy for my liking.
