Echeveria by fishers

Echeveria

These lovely succulents were to be found in the greenhouse at Goddards when we visited at the beginning of the month. There were lots of different succulents but these were my favourite.I thought that these looked like a bowl of roses.
I would quite like some of these but I am not good with house plants.

My dads favourite succulents, he grew and sold them before they became popular in the 60s. He used to pot them up into patio tubs, they became very popular.

They are lovely and yes, they look like roses to me too.
My niece bought me a little one of these for my birthday last week so I’m seeing how long it lasts before it dies, poor thing hasn’t got a hope..
Lovely shot.

Lovely shot. I think they would need a greenhouse to survive there.

@ladypolly Sadly I can manage to kill the easiest of plants to look after. I manage to keep roses and fuschias the others survive because I have a king neighbour!

@craftymeg What a lovely memory of your dad. I remember them being popular with a school friend. She still grows these and other succulents.

@pattyblue I try with house plants but....I usually put them in the garden, many suvive a year or two with benign neglect! If I try with them they die.
