Still in the garden of the Treasurer's House in York, I found a bench close to what had once been the main entrance to the grand house, and sat enjoying the view of both the garden and the Minster beyond.
It is quite inspiring to be able to enjoy such a close view of the Minster. When my student days ended, many years ago, I rented a room quite close to the Treasurer's House, and the view from my room was of the east end of the Minster, and enjoying that view was an inspiring start to each day.
