I was gently hefted from my sleep in the small hours of last night by the amorous grumblings of a local Koala. Twice. Unfortunately I couldn't spot anyone snoozing in the trees out the front when I got up this morning. Musta been a busy night!!!
had a market day on today, and we went along to check it out.
Despite my koala-ish day, and although it has nothing to do with koalas itself, this is my photo of choice from the market day ... three lovely ladies spinning wool on the verandah of the historic Roto House (1890), which is situated right next to the Koala Hospital in the Macquarie Nature Reserve. They kindly allowed me to snap a photo or two. Not the best angle with regard to the front views of the spinning wheels, but I do like the photo very much overall, including the little girl looking on.
It does remind me however that I once had a beautiful spinning wheel just like the ones they are using, that I picked up in an op-shop for $20; but which I later sold in my "must cull possessions ruthlessly garage sale" when I was planning on moving to Tasmania. That plan changed, and I really wish I still had that spinning wheel!
