This Warner-King cooking apple is from one of the trees my father had grafted 25 years ago. The pulp is so white and fluffy and I've been busy making apple sauce for the freezer. This apple has had a grander calling though. It is now simmering away on the hob in a pan of pear chutney. I know he would be pleased to know that we are making the most of the trees he started all those years ago.
Next time I come to England I'm coming to your place for afternoon tea. You really do make some wonderfully sounding food. I feel like a need to try some.
