In honour of the Williams pear... by flowerfairyann

In honour of the Williams pear...

... my brother and I have held a pear festival for ourselves today. Some of the Williams pears from the garden went into chutney last weekend but today we have had pear and ginger flapjacks at coffee-time; a pear, rocket and parmesan starter, pear and Roquefort cheese tart for our main course and a pear tart tartin for dessert this lunchtime. I won't need anything else to eat today!

Not a great picture but it is in honour of the pear and of the best pastry I've ever managed to make. Not sure what I'm going to make with all the Conference pears still ripening on the tree - there's even more of them!
Looks all so very delicious, and a lovely photo too!

Wow. That sounds absolutely gorgeous. Now I like my conference pears with cheese. Im partial to slices of conference spread with with soft blue cheese and wrapped in parma ham. It is our Christmas day appetiser every year now!
