Did you get to go inside or is there nothing there, just a frontage? We had some houses like this in Alaska, built into the ground. They had flowers growing on top. This is a great composition and I expect the Hobbit to come outside any minute!! Big Fave.

LOVE IT!!! My sons' step daughter is visiting and is a HUGE Hobbit fan!! Her mouth just dropped when I showed her this photo. We were at the Oregon Gardens yesterday and in the children section they had a small hobbit house. We took her photo in it. (she is 22 btw! hahah! :)

The details are incredible, but only outside -all the inside shots were done in Wellington apparently (apart from the inn in Today's shot.) In North island, NZ, at Metadata, easy to find via internet search for Hobbiton
