Great image Robyn in lovely fine detail, I also think its a Female Golden Orb Weaver spider the female is about 25 -45cm and the male is much smaller:)

Ewwwwwwwwwwww, gross!!! It would be a "dead" one if I had run into it!!! If they are outside they can live, in my house, on my house, even on my deck or steps and they are goners!!! Geez, I hate spiders almost as much as snakes!!
That all being said...What an AWESOME capture!!!! Fantastic details, lighting and clarity and way too damn close for me!!! FAV!!
