Spring is in the Air! by fntngrma

Spring is in the Air!

It was a gorgeous morning at Fountain Creek Regional Park. Does anyone else notice how they lose a lot of the rich color when converting from RAW to JPEG? I tried increasing the saturation and increasing the colors that I seem to lose, but in the conversion the warmer colors are still not as vibrant.
Beautiful shot! Great job bringing the colors back to life.

Beautiful scenery. I've never noticed a difference between raw and jpeg. I just adjust the levels before I convert it

Colour, light and detail all so gorgeous, has to be a fav. Yes, I have noticed what you describe; I notice it while the image is still in RAW, before I convert it to JPEG. It's because (I believe) the camera does its own editing on the JPEG shots, including boosting the colour, but the RAW shots contain everything the camera captured, unedited by the camera. I do add vibrance and saturation, and if it seems necessary, I find that moving the temperature slider to the warmer end, either before converting the image to JPEG, or afterwards, using the Camera Raw filter, can help--so can adding a little brightness and/or contrast. All of this I do in Photoshop CC.

@tristansmum Thanks Stephanie for your comments and tips. I often wish I could post the RAW images because they are often so much more vibrant with more variations in color. I absolutely love your images! They are a great source of inspiration for me and I am sure many others.

Pretty soon there will be leaves and green grass! You should go back in a month and take the same shot. This one is very pretty. Lots of snow still on those mountains in the distance!

Gorgeous - it's hard to picture the colors even more beautiful that they appear here. Beautifully composed. Fav
