Bearded Barley

Well, I’m pretty sure it’s barley. Good to see fields of it ripening on this morning’s walk. Reminds me of « Underneath the bearded barley » from The Lady of Shalott. I keep saying it to myself!

That’s a lovely image. We don’t seem to get cereal crops in these parts. We get a lot of rape and a lot of fruit, particularly apples.
