We were summoned to a meeting at our local museum this morning. Apparently, a now well known 88 year old art director who came as a poor evacuee from London to our village in 1941, has donated £10,000 to the museum. He has lived all over the world but Burwell, our village, is by far the best place he has ever lived in.
