This blue plaque celebrates the founding of Addenbrooke’s hospital Cambridge. It is one of the most prestigious hospitals in Britain if not the world. The hospital used to be in the city centre but it is now huge and is situated outside the city alongside the recently added Papworth hospital. The good doctor died at the age of 39. What a legacy for such a young man.
