clumsy focus stack! by francoise

clumsy focus stack!

well, it was windy, so I lost the middle distance photo of the end of the branch (it did not line up at all). I've just figured out that my phone can do a focus stack thing (involving two photos, I think), so may do another.
@miseria I did this challenge (using GIMP to uncover layers ... not the most precise or elegant method), but it was incredibly windy , so the tip of the branch is actually removed in favor of just the background -- I held the branch away to get a shot of that just in case.) I'm going to try again using phone's built-in function, which I just realized is focus-stacking, perhaps using two pictures.

This one looks exceptional on black. What is the purpose of stacking?

You managed to capture a photo that has deeper than usual focus! Focus stacking is often a rather tricky technique that is often a pain. There's always something that doesn't line up or something else randomly off whenever I attempt it too! :D

There are some free programs for automatically doing it out there but, I've not used any of them so don't know if they're any good. I suppose I should test one or two.

I'm yet to explore this focus stack thing. It's all a bit deep for me.
