Scrambling

(Cell phone pic) we ducked behind a big rock to avoid another dog in the park. The dogs immediately wanted to scramble up. Peanut, has not yet learned not to lunge at other dogs. Once he gets close enough to a new dog, he is very calm and friendly. But his approach is so tumultuous (and hard on my arms) , that I chose to duck behind the rock. Not sure how one goes about training him to approach me dogs more calmly.
When I had my greyhounds, adopted off a racetrack, they were really used to other dogs, so I didn’t have to train them I thought, just super easy going. No advice for you, but good luck to you.

I don't know anything about training dogs, but I have observed the same type of behavior of dogs you've described many times on my walks.

I am certain you could google it if you had the time to spend in training! Great shot of the dogs

We are working on this too. Riley is much smaller but still lunges and jumps when we see something she wants. I am trying to stop when she lunges and calm her down but it has been slow going so far. Maybe, try youtube or Cesar Millan the dog Whisperer.
