what I did on my hip vacation by francoise

what I did on my hip vacation

"Hip vacation" is what I am now calling the time I had to stay in due to hip injury. I sat in my chair and sewed this numerologically sound quilt for a number-loving friend who is turning 60 (60 leaves, count them) has husband and two babies (4 birds, count them), has been married for 31 years (31 blades of grass, count them) from the five of us (5...., count them), with one tree to bind them all.....
What a fantastic gift, and so thoughtful with all those significant numbers. It looks great, I bet she'll be thrilled with it!

Oh, Love it. Is it hand quilted than. I have done that but not nearly so well. What a lucky friend.

@joansmor no, the applique is hand done, but the quilted was done with trusty Bernina...

What a wonderful gift and such a lovely idea! Handmade pressies are always the best. It's so cool that something so creative has come out of your hip vacation.

the story of the quilt will be passed on and it is a particularly thoughtful idea. I did a lot of large quilts in the past. I can appreciate the work that goes into these projects. Now I have lost the urge to be ambitious in that department.
