Mr. Pig's August 3 by francoise

Mr. Pig's August 3

I don’t like to be critical, but I don’t understand why Miss F. has to make everything so complicated. Take me to the woods. Take a picture. Done. But that’s too simple. “You’re going to have a grand adventure Mr. Pig,” she says. “You’re going to go for a ride on the dog!” Huh? Ride on that great beast who eats grass, leaves, sticks, and, I daresay, pigs? She shakes things for fun! She rolls in the dirt. She has fleas. But Miss F. wouldn’t hear of my objections. She actually tied me to Lucy’s collar and off we went. Walking on the leash makes the collar slip round and round the neck. So there I was upside down, sideways, upside down, hanging under her neck. Let me tell you that the thrill-seeking days of my piglet youth are definitively over. When Miss F. saw that I almost fell off when the dog leaped over a tree trunk, she quickly took a picture and let me ride in the camera bag, a much more dignified means of transport. As I said, I don’t like to be critical. But I am hoping that next time we can just go for a walk rather than for an adventure.
Me thinks that thou dost protest too much! (Shakespeare I think)
Don't you know that it is adventures that keep you young, Mr. Pig? Surely you would rather be out in the big wide world exploring than cooped up on a shelf somewhere gathering dust. That is no life for a handsome critter like yourself!
Besides, Miss F. is very good with a camera and always takes such complimentary pictures of you like this one! You are a star because of her!

Ha ha ha. I LOVE IT! Sort of...Like @pandorasecho your story made me laugh. Then I realized I was laughing at Mr. Pig's expense. I have to disagree with @farmreporter. I'm all for adventures, but adventuring is one thing and reckless endangerment is another. Please, oh please, Miss F, take care of our little friend. Otherwise - great shot!

excellent story and excellent shot, miss F.

and mr. pig, be thankful the dog didn't try eating you whole. or did it? although i wouldn't know if it's better being eaten alive or being eaten after you've been roasted to a crisp. i supposed you wouldn't know that, would you?

Cute shot, but the FAV is so I can re-read the commentary, which made me chuckle. You have a v ery creative imagination. LOL

Such a magnificent shot of you on your adventure Mr. Pig. I have to confess that I liked reading the story about it better than the picture though.

I am glad to see you survived this ordeal Mr. Pig. Goodness! What gets into these humans sometimes?! Tying a pig to a dog! Stay safe- and stay away from the "beast" if you can. Piggy
