I've already figured out how they all get mixed together. The only thing I'm not sure about is whether there is going to be peach jam in or on the cake.
@stephomy ah, the baker! Well, when I was a kid, a friend made a criss-cross cake with raspberry jam and criss-crosses of cake on top. I lost her recipe and she has died. So, I tried with Betty Crocker's Bonnie Butter Cake. It's not as sturdy a batter as Mitzi's was, so the jam sank into the batter and the top closed over the jam. But we really liked it, so I kept making it that way. Discovered this year that peach jam doesn't have quite as much of a bite as some of the other jams, and though everyone said they loved it, I won't be using peach again (or would use twice as much perhaps).
It is a good series of food shots but, alas, most of them remind of what I miss from my diet.... II'm sure I can feel my blood glucose rising as I look at them! :-)
