A Sheep's Life by fueast

A Sheep's Life

Top day out today with the 365 gang but boy was it rubbish light. Typically Yorkshire Dales though - hence am going with a typical Dales scene - barn, bleak, sheep, moor, drystone wall. Thats the Dales. Plus most of my shots were a bit rubbish!
Beautiful, pastoral scene!

Too much fun and not enough photo work?! Still this is a corker - like a Graham Harcourt special - high praise!!

@judithg A who? Will have to google

@fueast Or search for him on 365 - he's off travelling on his yacht at the mo but posted some fab bleak sheep last winter. Actually - let me check if it's Harcourt or Harcombe!

Looks like where I live :)...I like it.

Captured the bleakness beautifully!!
January 8th, 2012
I like the fact that you could capture the bleakness yet you can still see the texture and detail of the barn and sheep. I like it lots.

Came out great. It felt even bleaker than that when we were there!
January 8th, 2012
@rich57 probably was - some editing took place...
January 8th, 2012
great Dales shot - that sheep has got her eye on you!
January 8th, 2012
really like this Alison - loving the layers!!

Looks very much like many days I've experienced in the Dales, at least when I don't have the rose tinted spectacles on! You've captured it very well. The green tank, the corrugated iron and the sheep trailer aren't things that you often see on the picture postcards, but they are common features in the working landcsape.

January 8th, 2012
Love the multiple dimensions of the photo from near to far
January 8th, 2012
Think it's come out great - v. atmospheric and great sheep.
January 8th, 2012
Great shot of the dales.
January 8th, 2012
ooooh too cool!
January 8th, 2012
It has a very calm sense to it - really like all the different textures! I know what it's like to have the dull light - hard to work with during this season!
January 8th, 2012
love it :)
January 8th, 2012
gotta love a bit of Dales bleakness! great scene and editing! Sounds like you all had a fab time
January 8th, 2012
It's a great scene, don't be too hard on yourself
January 8th, 2012
Looks like a good life! :) Lovely shot.
January 8th, 2012
I love it! You captured so much in one shot.
January 8th, 2012
Beautiful pastoral scene nicely captured.
January 8th, 2012
So good! Which is making me homesick...
January 8th, 2012
Brings back memories of walking in the dales as a child, usually in weather like this or worse!
January 9th, 2012
Gorgeous shot of the country. :)
January 9th, 2012
You make me want to be there, beautiful.
January 9th, 2012

January 9th, 2012
boy would i love a photo walk like this :-)
January 9th, 2012
Wow so serene and such beautiful countryside.
January 9th, 2012
i like how the one on the right is just staring at you, but the one on the left is happily eating away on the grass
January 9th, 2012
This one is most certainly NOT rubbish!! It's beautiful and really makes me want to visit the UK...
January 9th, 2012
Has a timeless bucolic eighteenth century feel. Like the way sheep in the cold northern hemisphere sheep are valued much more for textiles rather than just Sunday lunch
January 9th, 2012
@tabbycat we got plenty of this bleak stuff in Yorkshire if you ever do get over here....
January 9th, 2012
Oh, I will for sure. Have ancestors from England, Ireland and Wales..currently researching family tree so I can hang where they hung when I do get over there...
January 9th, 2012
but not this one... this is so beautiful... love how you composed and edited. it makes the view want to be there.
January 9th, 2012
OMG this is a fav. This is such a fantastic scenic shot. Great capture...I think you are too used this and forget how amazing it is. I for sure am making it up north on my next visit!!
