The riders and the woodpile

Not a top day for photos today. Been working on a progress report for an EU project (draft now finished yay). Nipped out with Poppy for a bit but the light was poor (until we got back...). Plus comedy dog devoured some horrible dead animal virtually whole while my back was turned (a rat, bird?). Will be paying for that later. Anyway, I did catch these riders enjoying the snow. Poor quality picture though. Sorry am behind with commenting and out again tonight. Turning out to be a busy week.
I'd be doing a little hating the world if I was working so hard and then popped out and saw others were spending their time doing a little horseback riding. And the dog ate what??? Still, nice photo!!

@swguevin No idea! I fear I might find out later...wondering what I'll find when I come back after an evening at friends.

Nice colour contrast m'dear!

I love the fact there are horses and riders - thought tiny - included - gives a sense of scale. I think this is awesome - loads of textures and contrasts. A truly beautiful pic.
As for your comedy dog - I feel a sense of humour failure coming on! ;) Good luck!!!

wow! This is like a painting and you call this poor? I love the scale of it and you have to look around the scene to see different things

I really like the browns with the white in this.

So love the colouring of the forest!!

Lovely earth colours of the trees and vegetation against the snow. The figures just bring the whole image to life!

Lovely tones in this one - very nice.

I love the tones in this! The light and low contrast between sky and snow makes this into a proper winter scene I think!

Excellent winter scene. Very nicely done.

Very pretty.
February 8th, 2012

Ew! I see messy smelly carpets in your future!
Lovely scene, I really like the tones :)

Really like the symmetry of pair of trees and pair of rider separated by woodpile
February 9th, 2012
Nice wintry scene there - laugh out loud with the comedy dog moment - little beggar.

gorgeous seven captured Alison!

@islawight She is. Unbelievably the carpet survived the night!

Fab palette here. That's a proper critique sort of word.... and gorgeous trees. Monty was sniffing around yesterday and eventually my daughter bothered to look why he'd stopped (she had him on lead) and he had his head in a dead squirrel - fortunately a bit too big to just swallow -he was still pondering how to get started!

Gorgeous tones and lovely view

just a wonderful wonderful scene and capture

@judithg Poppy says - two quick crunches and down in one - incase Monty needed any advice for next time. Think I've got away with it but lets see when I get home from work...

Super snow scene, those two old trees look like an old married couple!
February 9th, 2012
nice snowy capture - and horrible dog - mine used to find vile things to roll in that meant major clean ups to avoid mange
February 9th, 2012
Oh, took my breath away with the horses added. Wow.
