According to my gran if you hold a buttercup under your chin and it makes a yellow shadow then you like butter.
Supposed to be packing tonight so if I appear to be on here all night please tell me off!
Get packing!! My Mum said the same thing about butter but it still casts a yellow shadow on people who don't like it. Not scientifically proven I don't think.
@fueast ya, but you get to go to Hungary? Will you have any time to play? Can you find something REALLY old and shoot it for me? as you know, I love olde and olde from Hungary might be different than olde in England.
Beautiful shot! What I find most interesting about this is that there are lots of people who have heard this "wives' tail" from all over the world...the UK, Ontario, Cape Town, and me, in the US. So....when and how did this "tradition" originate? Does anyone know?
While looking for buttercup stuff, I found this. Reading for the plane...don't read it now, I don't want to be to blame if you forget to pack your favourite pair of "insert favourite pair of something here" http://listverse.com/2009/01/06/9-gruesome-fairy-tale-origins/
Btw, I found a hill to climb. Pegg's Mountain but really a great big hill. If I make it to the top, I'll take pictures for you. Expect greatness on Tuesday.
Great shot - I love the bright yellow against the darker background. We always believed that buttercup under the chin tale when we were kids. And I do like butter!
Lovely shot, great yellow!
