This is my gorgeous dog Poppy out doing what she loved, romping across the Dales. Sadly I Iost her to cancer in the grim year that was 2020. She was 14 ½ and never missed a days walk so I suppose I should be thankful for that. I like this portrait because it conveys the essence of her – outdoor girl with big happy face. Big boots for poor Bessie to step into although to be honest I might have selectively forgotten Poppy’s naughtier days…

I remember Poppy from your photos and commentaries in years past. Nothing like the love of a dog. I have deeply loved the 5 dogs we have shared our lives with. We haven’t had the heart to get another since our Molly passed. Some day. Lovely photo.
