This morning before work my colleague took me on a walking tour of the city (Budapest). I mentioned derelict buildings and he reluctantly took me to area VIII. Turned out to be very interesting and not so crime ridden as he expected. Lots of derelict buildings and quite a lot of regeneration going on. New bars, shops springing up. Ps will be trying area vii tomorrow singing the specials concrete jungle as I go....
Fantastic shot. Love the tones you got here and the brilliant processing.
P.S. Went and looked for more Poppy pics in your calendar - can't resist a pup. Saw other great stuff I had missed.
great shot loads going on in this texture colour etc. in a way its a shame they are destroying the old to be replaced with new new doesnt seem to have the same character somehow.
Very cool. I booked Nigel and a client into a hotel in Budapest once - the hotels weren't expensive so it was a posh one with a spa and hot baths and massages (he didn't have one as it was that or beer). He said right up until the last minute there was graffiti everywhere and it looked run down. This looks like it's all improving!
@judithg Where does Nigel go when he travels? Much of Budapest is swanky and has been for a while. I prefered it in the grungy old days. Mind you it was a bit scary when noone spoke English. I cried in a railway station once !
He says it was Budapest but they travelled in through the outskirts (Adam says its the graf capital of Europe) and the hotel was just inside the nice bit. But he was assuming that I'd sent him somewhere dodgy up until that point.
