Old snow drop by fueast

Old snow drop

15 / 365
I reprocessed the snow drop pic through an old photo app in befunky. I quite like it but would like to know if I am off the mark here and really it looks a bit rubbish. If you had time I would appreciate comments on if this has worked compared to the original pic. Thanks!
Original pic was here :

Overall I like what you've done. I wonder if you could soften it a little bit perhaps, but it's very atmospheric. I definitely prefer it to the original :)

Ditto what Jo said.and I love the lighting in both

I prefer it to the original ), the whole image is much softer, and I think it is now far more illustrative

This one could be a painting...both are great although at a push i prefer the original.

@jlhopgood @jgpittenger @jannykoster @scottkaway Thanks for these helpful comments everyone. I might try to soften it using picnic online.... never tried that before.

Wasn't sure which I preferred - was leaning towards the original but this is growing on me (no pun intended ... ) - it gives a ghostly quality to the blurred background which adds to the 'antique' feel.

Hmm...I prefer this one....it's different to a 'plain' flower shot. It has an almost romantic feel to it, old world....I use befunky sometimes but it can be a bit 'heavy sometimes but yes. I like this.

Beautiful

Hmm - the part I liked most about the original was the greenery - I thought the focus/out of focus balance was really good. Somehow in this one I haven't really noticed the foliage so I'm favouring the original.

@judithg oo its fun getting this kind of feedback. Sometimes its very hard to judge yourself.

@Cherrill I know what you mean - on my phone app you can usually select how much you want to apply an effect but in this case it was all or nothing.

@judithg How come you've got two different pictures - the new you appears in notifications and the old you next to your comment. Are you developing an alter ego?

I think I like this one, it's a bit more arty

@fueast Oh well at one point Zip said I'd changed to the new one but I could only see the old, now I've changed to the new one and you can see the old - I'm only seeing the new me here!! I didn't delete the old pic before I loaded the new one - maybe that's why it's confused!!

I think I preferred the earlier shot too, sorry

@shanne I wasn't sure myself. Very good to get feedback so thanks.

Very nicely done. Nice dof.

I've been flicking between the two and I can't decide which I like best. I like the shiny clarity of the original but I like the effects and the colours of this one. It's all good Ms Tomlin - as usual

i like the graininess of this one over the alternative. nice one.

I like this one. Both are lovely but I love the tones in this one. I do agree that a bit of softening might improve it (or not).

I think it turned out quite well

I think I prefer this one to the straight color version. The bright parts of the bokeh in the upper left might be toned down just a bit so your eye doesn't jump to it right away. Overall though, I like this a lot.

I prefer this one. It makes it almost look like it's worked in metal. Like an old fashioned street lamp!
