Blackrod Church. by gamelee

Blackrod Church.

The Church being, St. Katharine's.
The name Blackrod derives from the Old English, blaec and rodu, meaning a "dark clearing". The first mention of the town dates to 1189.
Beautiful layers, colours and textures.

My eyes were drawn immediately to the church on the crest, firm, constant and stoic in the evening haze. VML the dappled foreground. Wouk silks to give it more than one fav. Forgot...it's triple points today!

The layers are nice - I might have been tempted to have cut some of the foreground to give them extra emphasis.
