Hairy not Furry.

At what point does a squirrels tail become hair?
Great POV! And you raise an interesting philosophical (or biological?) question!

Come on Lee - its a bit late in the night to tax our brains to think of an answer !! but in my mind the part that is flesh and bones is the tail and the hairs sprout out of that ! - now going back to your image a great monotone shot with light enhancing the tail !

Love the crop and pov. As for your question, I believe that is it up to type of conditioner used. :):)

Good question

The tail and the hind leg make a satisfying S shape. Isn't there a biological difference between hair and fur? But I don't know what it is!

My fur is a bit thin on top these days! I love this shot, great use of light!

This is information I found on the net about greys.

Squirrels, like most mammals, have a pelage, or coat, made up of two types of hair: guard hairs, the long outer hairs which in the grey squirrel are white-tipped, and fur, which is short, fine, often curly, and close to the body. Guard hairs protect the fur, while the fur insulates the mammal.

My teacup Schnauzer has hair. Hair needs to be cut, fur is self shedding. I had never thought about it before until a woman asked me if my dog had fur or hair. She needs to be groomed to get a cut and trim. :)
