I took advantage of the courtesy mountain bike from the hotel, and then, the Penken gondola ride from Mayrhofen up to 1,790 meters above sea level. My aim was to cycle down and head for the Speicher Stillup, a reservoir in the Zillertal Alps Nature Park. You can see the reservoir in this photo (middle right). It was quite a ride 26 miles in total.
Just to the left and up from the reservoir, is the mountain Ahorn. The light yellow/green area is where I took yesterdays photo from. One can just about see some lodges on there.
@vignouse I retired from working full time three years ago at the age of 55. For 30 years I had an active and sometimes physical demanding job as a fireman, I guess it's ingrained.
